I’m so excited to be sharing with you my first episode of Pictures to Profits Podcast. I still can’t believe after months of planning, and hard work, that it’s finally here! Thank you to all my wonderful supporters, friends, and family. In my first podcast I’m going to share with you 5 ways to maximize traffic with every pin on Pinterest. This is a great podcast for those that are just learning about Pinterest, or could use a reminder of how to maxmize the use of Pinterest. Give it a listen.
Why I started Podcasting
This actually isn’t my first podcast. I tried doing one about a year and a half ago, and it was absolutely terrible. I actually didn’t know what I was doing and I was trying to be some fake radio personality. I was trying to be likeTerry O’ Reilly from Under the Influence, who is the host of Canada’s number one iTunes podcast. If you think Under the Influence is about beer, it’s far from that.
Terry is an amazing storyteller, and in my opinion, his show is the BEST podcast about marketing that’s out there, His show really inspired me to be a podcaster and to look at creative marketing in so many different lights. I owe him a big debt of gratitude for that. But after producing my first two episodes about social media about a year ago, I realized how terrible they were, and so I stopped producing them.
It didn’t have the feel that I was hoping for. But I realized, that nothing is going to be perfect, and at times you really do have to jump in and make mistakes. You have to jump in and try and get outside of what you know you’re already capable of.
While this first episode is a solo episode, I’ve had the chance to interview some wonderful people. People who have provided me some great insight into Pinterest, social media marketing, and what it means to be human. Seems a little bit touchy feeling, but as I’m starting to conduct more interviews, I can see the power of listening and being curious. And I hope that by listening to the podcast you’re able to get tremendous value and to take your Pinterest marketing to a whole new level.
Big thanks goes to Cynthia Sanchez
For those that read this blog, know that Cynthia and I partner up together on podcast to do a monthly show. We also teach live online classes together. I owe her a big debt of gratitude, and her podcast, Oh So Pinteresting encouraged me to start my own show. She’s also provided helpful hints for my podcast. I want to give a really big shout to her, you can check out her site at http://www.OhSoPinteresting.com
I also want to give a special thanks to Pat Flynn, who runs Smart Passive Income. I remember seeing Pat talk live at the last year of Blog World (renamed New Media expo) and he was actually the first person that planted seeds in my head about the world of podcasting. Before that, I wasn’t even sure what podcasting was.
And Micheal Hyatt is such a great influence. Micheal generally doesn’t interview guests, but offers a punch to his podcast, This is Your Life.
Who’s Being Featured in Future Episodes
In my future episodes I have some great guests on Pictures to Profits, including Peg Fitzpatrick, Head of Social Strategy at Canva, and Melonie Dodaro, Canada’s #1 Linkedin expert and founder of Top Dog Social Media, and Katherine Kotaw of Kotaw Content Marketing.
I also interviewed Julie Grandbois, who actually started an Etsy shop inspired by what was popular on Pinterest. It was an interesting case of using Pinterest marketing research to develop a product.
One of my future guests that I’m really looking forward to interviewing is Jeff Sieh of the Manly Show, where we’ll be talking more about why aren’t men using Pinterest, and those that are, what are they using it for?
Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you enjoy the Pictures to Profits Podcast.
