MCNG Marketing is more than just a digital marketing and branding agency in Vancouver. Yes we’ve worked with clients on social media campaigns with tools like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. Yes we’ve helped clients improve their Linkedin profile to get more exposure. And yes we’ve helped build businesses from the ground up from conception, to branding, to visual design, to a final product that hit store shelves.
We are people that are passionate about creating, passionate about helping businesses grow to the next level, and managing social media for clients when they don’t have the time nor the expertise. We are educators and dreamers that see your business with a whole new fresh perspective. In many ways we are dreamers, we dream of what your business can become and how your business can grow to help support your local community economically and socially.
Meet the Vancouver Marketing Team and Consultants behind MCNG Marketing
Tess McCann, the CEO of MCNG Marketing, loves people and that is the reason she has worked in the hospitality industry for 13 years. She really believes that customer service is the key to success in this field.
She has a business and marketing background from Carleton University in her hometown of Ottawa and has been here and been loving Vancouver since 2007.
With over 10 years experience as a marketing consultant in the spa and salon industry, she has helped small and large locations improve their profitability and reputation through marketing and customer service. She has worked as project manager to plan and promote openings as well as expansions in this field. Here in Vancouver, Tess has worked with industry greats such as Rain Salon and Boutique.
Tess has always had a passion for food – simply put, she loves to eat great food. But that passion extended past just being a consumer when she used her experience to transition into working more specifically in restaurant marketing with clients such as Cosca and Novo Pizzeria.
Tess’ experience also extends to promoting and selling art. She has put shows together for a local artist, and applied her knowledge of the arts to handle everything from promotions and event planning to closing sales.
On a personal note, Tess is a dog lover and is very proud of her Brussels Griffons. Fun facts: she loves high-school teenage dramas (especially ones from the 90s), and as can often be seen on her Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook, she also loves dinosaurs, especially T-Rex.
Vincent Ng is a man with big smiles and a friendly heart that has worked in internet and digital marketing for over five years. He is the President of MCNG Marketing and the founder of the Pintalysis Marketing Blueprint, and is responsible for overseeing the social media and online campaigns of their clients.
Vincent has been an opening speaker, along with C.E.O, Ryan Holmes, from Hootsuite, at the International Internet Marketing Association’s Fusion 2011 conference, where he discussed brand loyalty through mobile gamification. He was also a speaker at Social Media Week in Vancouver in 2011 where he presented on how to use social media to get customers into restaurants. It’s not uncommon to see Vincent speaking at a variety of events at the University of British Columbia every year to students in the Sauder School of Business, and in the Faculty of Arts.
Previously to MCNG, Vincent worked as a Regional Manager for the Silicon Valley tech startup, RewardMe, where he worked with restaurants on developing mobile loyalty programs using QR codes. Vincent is also the public relations manager for BlueBat, the creators of the BlueBox gaming engine which helps gaming companies create social games more easily. BlueBat is one of the five tech startups that was selected into Growlab’s 2012 spring cohort accelerator program.
He is best known for the time that he delivered a pizza on behalf of his client, Novo Pizzeria and Wine Bar, to an out of town guest who was landing in Vancouver at 8am on a weekday and had a 1.5 hour layover, because the person jokingly tweeted she would like to have a breakfast pizza from Novo. Not one to disappoint, he took her request quite seriously and personally greeted the tweeter and delivered the pizza to Vancouver’s airport.
From August 2007- March 2011 he worked as a manager for Starbucks in Vancouver where under his leadership, business acumen, and his attention to selecting great staff he helped double the monthly gross sales by the time he left his position. Previously to his position with Starbucks, he worked for 4 years as a senior food and alcohol purchaser for Western Canada’s largest hotel, the Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel.
Other professional quirks that Vincent has is that he was a professional educator at the Vancouver School Board teaching others the art of conversation. He is also the author of the e-book Art of Conversation: Enhance Your Charisma for Success which has sold over 1000 copies online to date. He is also the author of Help with Yelp for Restaurants: How to Survive in the Digital Age of Yelpsters.
He graduated from the University of British Columbia with B.A. in math and sociology and is currently single and living in Vancouver. He loves reading business books, comics, tweeting, and educating people on how to have better conversations.
Esther Yuen is a Vancouver-based communication designer that has designed marketing materials for over 5 years. As a graphic designer with MCNG Marketing, Esther helps clients create attractive print and digital communication pieces. She enjoys helping clients identify their needs and create visual solutions that work best for them.
After finishing her BA in Sociology, she went and enrolled in a Publishing Diploma Program at Langara College where she was trained in writing and design. There, Esther was selected by instructors to be the Art Director for Pacific Rim Magazine (PRM). As Art Director, Esther worked with a talented group of young photographers, graphic designers, and illustrators to create page layouts. Esther had the privilege of co-directing the last photo shoot of late David Y.H. Lam, founder of Ballet BC, just shortly before he passed away.
Recently, Esther completed a marketing communication internship with Momentum Conferencing Corporation. She was responsible for writing and researching for blogs and other forms of social media, and editing communication materials. Her knowledge of inbound marketing and web optimization grew substantially.
Throughout the years, Esther has helped various groups with their communication design. She’s worked with multiple groups in UBC and has designed reports for Thompson Rivers University. Outside of education, she’s designed and illustrated for The Source Newspaper, the UBC Student Leadership Conference, Blitz& Bloom Talent Group, and Vancouver Urban Ministries.
She’s learned that each client is unique, but that each of them value having fun at work, top-notch execution, and professionalism.
When she’s not working, she enjoys playing with her bunny, completing online jigsaw puzzles, and hanging out with friends.
